A new generation of filmmakers in Myanmar hopes to revitalize and reshape the country's film industry with quality scripts and videos produced with professional production standards. Maung Maung Tha Myint, founder of Nut and Butter Production hopes to lead the new wave with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera.

According to Myanmar Times’ coverage in 2014, Myanmar produces about 900 straight-to-DVD films a year, which is a high output. However, many of these titles are not professional films. The fi lms are produced without scripts, shot lists, and the film locations not scouted in advance. The works produced does not reflect a generation of serious filmmakers.

Fortunately, there are always filmmakers working hard to make the change. Founded in 2011, Nut & Butter Production is a group of freelance professionals working towards BURMESE FILMMAKERS RESHAPE MYANMAR’S FILM INDUSTRY A new generation of filmmakers in Myanmar hopes to revitalize and reshape the country’s film industry with quality scripts and videos produced with professional production standards. Maung Maung Tha Myint, founder of Nut and Butter Production hopes to lead the new wave with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. the same goal of setting a quality standard in Myanmar and helping the indie film scene.
