Ahead of BroadcastAsia 2015, held from 2-5 June, Asia Image talked to five of the industry experts speaking at the 6th Creative Content Production Conference 2015 to share their thoughts on funding and distribution of Asian films and how filmmakers can reach wider viewers. This is the third of the interview series with Lina Tan, Founder, Red Communications.

China is driving the economics of the industry where all Asian countries are either fully producing or co-producing in China. Meanwhile, countries like Thailand drive a thriving local content industry as they have great homegrown talent that churns out good quality films that can appeal to other Asian countries despite the language differences beating Hollywood films in countries like Laos and Cambodia. The main challenge is always distribution and marketing of Asian films vs Hollywood, which has a whole infrastructure put into place.
