SMPTE 2013 – Miranda Technologies, a Belden Brand, a global provider of integrated solutions for production, play out and delivery systems for television broadcasters and multi-system operators, will demonstrate the central role it is playing in the transition to 4K UHDTV production at SMPTE 2013, taking place in Hollywood, California, October 22-24.
The demonstration of Miranda’s end-to-end 4K UHDTV production workflow begins with the new Telecast CopperHead 3404K camera-mountable transceiver. The CopperHead 3404K requires only two strands of lightweight fiber optic cable to carry all bi-directional signals, including four 3Gb/ s HD /SDI paths, for 4K UHDTV productions from camera to truck or control room. This enables 4K UHDTV cameras to be dual-purposed for use in studios, ENG and digital cinematography without the inherent limitations of copper cables.
