India to release first animated stereoscopic 3D feature film

Hey Krishna could serve as a point of reference for several flash and digital 2D studios.

Indian animation is all set to transcend boundaries with Reliance Animation’s Hey Krishna, the country’s first stereoscopic 3D animated feature film set for release on August 3.

According to Ashish S.K., CEO of Reliance Animation and also the executive producer of the film, Hey Krishna took about five-and-a-half years in the making and over 1,200 artists working on it. Hey Krishna features a stellar voice cast, including Om Puri (who plays the role of Kans), Juhi Chawla (Mother Yashoda), and Prachi Save (Krishna). The film also features Manoj Bajpai, Anupam Kher, A.K. Hangal, Sachin & Supriya Pilgaokar and Mukesh Khanna.
