The euro zone pressure could have dampened the mood at this year’s IBC, but thanks to London 2012, things are looking up.
The Olympic Games have always been one of the most popular platforms to showcase new broadcast technologies. This year, equipment manufacturers gave London 2012 audiences a richer, more immersive viewing experience which included some 300 hours of live and recorded 3D, broadcast in (NHK’s) Super Hi Vision, web distribution, and large-scale IT solutions. Most of these technologies will be on display at IBC 2012. Visitors also have the option to get a complete analysis of how it all went down behind the scenes at London 2012 in a keynote address by Barbara Slater, BBC’s Director of Sport.
