MTV Sessions goes local

Singapore/Hong Kong – MTV today unveiled plans for the 2012 launch of a locally produced version of MTV Sessions, the multiplatform music series developed for artistes to showcase their craft in a studio environment with a live audience. The debut episode of the four-installment series will feature recording artiste Vanness Wu and be recorded in high-definition (HD) at Waterfront Studio, Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore on Wednesday 14 December. The programme will premiere on MTV SEA on 1 January 2012, with additional exclusive content available online at Like other versions of the programme, the Asian-produced MTV Sessions will adopt an informal and revealing format to highlight the work and life of the artistes through their music and personal stories. Key to the series is the connection with the audience, where the artistes will take questions from fans about their life and career. Fans and viewers will be encouraged to participate in the Q&A opportunities on MTV Asia’s website, with some questions answered by the artiste during the show. Clips of performances and exclusive behind-the-scene footages will also be available on the website, giving fans multiple touch points to interact with the series. “In addition to the incredible live performances, MTV Sessions offers fans unparalleled access to the artistes and their music on a more personal level,” said Tan Sian Ju, Vice President of Youth and Music. “The format of MTV Sessions embodies the core of music following – the artiste, the music and the fans – and we’re excited to be bringing the show to screens for Asian audiences.”
