Asian Festival of 1st Films to be held from Nov 27 – Dec 4 in Singapore

Singapore: The 3rd Asian Festival of 1st Films (AFFF 2007), will screen 21 nominated films and documentaries in ten award categories, as well as 8 films in the out-of-competition section from November 27 – December 4 in Singapore. Produced by Teamwork Productions, AFFF 2007 is an event under the Asia Media Festival 2007, hosted by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA). The works will be screened at Golden Village Vivocity cinemas, the Arts House and HOUSE at Dempsey Hill, culminating in the Awards Night on December 4 where the jury will present winners with Swarovski trophies, along with prizes sponsored by MDA for the Best Film and Best Documentary awards. Nominated works come from Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Lebanon, Mongolia, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, USA and Vietnam. The selection was made from 500 entries received this year, with Australia and New Zealand included for the first time this year. Award categories include Best Film, Best Director, Best Producer, Best Cinematographer or Editor, Best Actor (Female), Best Actor (Male), Best Script/Screenplay, Best Documentary, Best Director of Documentary and the Purple Orchid Foreign Correspondents Association Choice Award. Delegate passes and student passes available at S$100 and S$50 respectively, entitle holders to attend unlimited film screenings, opening and closing ceremonies, as well as additional networking sessions and lectures.
