Canada: Matrox Video Products Group has released Matrox X.mio2 development units, a new hardware component of the Matrox DSX family of HD and SD video and audio products. X.mio2 is suitable for video servers, NLEs and CGs as it supports 4 HD-SDI inputs and outputs, 16 channels of embedded audio for each SDI stream, 16 channels of AES/EBU audio input, and 32 channels of AES/EBU audio output on each card. Its PCIe x 8 architecture provides transfer speeds of 2 GB/s in each direction for write and read. An onboard compositor/scaler composites up to 6 HD layers or 24 logo layers in real time and downscale up to 6 HD streams to any resolution in real time. Matrox X.mio2 also provides support for expansion modules including Matrox X.DVI that allows import of graphics, animation, and video content rendered by the system GPU directly to X.mio2 without transferring to host memory. The Matrox DSX product line will be demonstrated at IBC 2007 at stand 7.228.
