Rhythm & Hues to set up new production facility in Hyderabad

India/USA: Mumbai and Los Angeles-based animation and VFX studio Rhythm & Hues will set up its third production facility in HiTec City in Madhapur, Hyderabad, India, to be operational in November 2007. The 25,000 sq. ft. facility will be located in ‘The V’ IT park run by Ascendas and will function in a manner similar to the Mumbai facility in integrating networks, systems infrastructure, production workflow and artist departments with the Los Angeles facility. The Hyderabad facility will work on modeling, matchmoving, animation, lighting and compositing on Hollywood feature films. The studio is currently working as lead animation and VFX facility on New Line Cinema’s trilogy The Golden Compass, Fox’s Alvin & the Chipmunks, Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk, as well as Universal Studios’ The Mummy 3 and The Kingdom. The Mumbai and Los Angeles facilities house 200 and 700 employees respectively.
